Colleges and UniversitiesBuild community, improve communications with students, faculty and staff through ubiquitous, always-available announcement system

Digital signs are an exciting and technologically-oriented way for colleges and universities to build community by keeping students, faculty and staff informed about on-campus and community events. StrandVision digital signs use institutions' existing networks and existing televisions or computer displays to distribute daily announcements throughout the institution. The digital signs can provide constant updates and reminders of daily announcements using text, photos and video.

Designed to supplement traditional communications, such as poster boards and Web sites, digital signs are timely and efficient, and can be located anywhere students congregate – in student centers, lounges, dorm lobbies, food courts, dining areas, etc. Because digital signage is always available, students can check for the latest information any time of the day or night. The StrandVision digital signage system can send different messages to different locations and at different times of the day. Some institutions are using digital signs to display dining room menus, others send customized information to different colleges, such as law, engineering or education schools. For instance, a separate feed can be sent to teacher and/or administrator break rooms with messages targeted to administrative matters.
